February’s a great time to get away on a cruise! Join us February 22, 2005 as we cruise to Barbados, without ever lifting an anchor. The Nodding Head Brewery and Restaurant, 1516 Sansom Street, 2^nd Floor, will be our port of call.

Nodding Head’s Executive Chef Andrew "Drew" Maloney hails from sunny Barbados. He spends his days at the popular brewpub serving up some of the city’s most innovative bar food, often reflecting his island origins. Chef Drew plans to go back to his roots and conjure up a feast of authentic Barbados dishes, just like his momma used to make.

And, since it’s Nodding Head Brewery and Restaurant, we’ll be enjoying some of the house beers handcrafted on the premises by Head Brewer Gordon "Gordo" Grubb. The Nodding Head’s beers have won both silver and gold medals at the Great American Beer Festival and the Real Ale Festival. They’ve accumulated more awards than any other brewer in the Philadelphia area. They’ll be perfect to slake our thirst from the spicy, flavorful island plates.

On the menu Chef Drew promises such delights as Codfish Fritters with scallions, parsley and herbs; Blood Sausage; Pickled Pork with Cucumber Salad; and Curried Rabbit over a hardy root vegetable stew. Attire will be casual-in fact, break out the cruise wear! Let’s see who’s got the wildest Hawaiian shirt! The seating is limited, so don’t miss the boat!
