MONDIALE
EVENT
Chers
Confreres
et Consoeurs,
It
is with
great pleasure that I invite you to join us for The California
Wine
Experience, a
unique wine tasting event on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at the fabulous Dilworthtown
Inn. In the private and cozy confines of the
their charming Inn Keepers Kitchen, we will witness first-hand Chef
Aaron
Wilson;s preparation of the well-matched dishes chosen to compliment
the
spectacular wines we will share that evening. (You
may remember that Chef Wilson won the Chalne's Dinner
of the
Year Award for
this event last year so we know we are in the best of hands!)
Our
reception will begin with a Domaine Carneros Brut, served with a
selection of
amazing appetizers. Then, we
venture to our tables in the kitchen area to enjoy six flights of
outstanding
wines with wonderful accompanying dishes.
To start the evening, we'll delight in a flight of DuMOL
Chardonnays,
the Chloe and the Isobel, from the 2004 vintage. These
wines meet with critical acclaim every year, and the
2004 vintage was particularly noteworthy.
They'll be served with a poached lobster dish.
Next,
we'll
enjoy a flight of Turley zinfandels, pairing the Estate Zinfandel with
the
Hayne Vineyard Zinfandel. Helen
Turley is widely regarded as California's best Zinfandel producer, and
we're
going to sample her best from the 2003 vintage. Our
Pinot Noir flight with match the 2003 W.H. Smith
Maritime and Hellenthal pinots from the up-and-coming Sonoma Coast
region. Then come the California Merlots,
the
Pride Mountain and the Paul Hobbs Michael Black Vineyard in its final
year of
production. These will be followed
by an mini-vertical of Dominus Cabernets from the 1994 and 1996
vintages, two
of their best vintages ever (the 1994 was given a score of 100 points
by Robert
Parker). The Dominus cabs will be
served with rack of lamb.
To
cap off
this splendid evening, we'll enjoy a warm apricot tart with our dessert
wine,
the impossible-to-find Sine Qua Non Mr. K The Nobleman, from the 2002
vintage.
This promises to be an extraordinary event and
since
seating will be limited to twenty-four, please reply early. Whatever you do, don't miss it!
